Information

Sweet Tea is an ongoing project of a (surprisingly) few girls who live in the Dallas area. We are all fans of the EGL fashion, althogh we all sort of came to it in different ways. Here's the crew!

Christina: Christina was the former mod for the EGL Livejournal Community, SO she knows what she's talking about. She's the proud owner of alt-fashion.net and was crucial when it came to planning out the fancy details of our first tea.
Cat: Cat is new to the EGL fashion, but that doesn't stop her from being ridiculously enthusiastic about it. She's no stranger to cosplay though, she's been sewing and making her own costumes since 1998- and is living proof you can do some kickin' cosplay on a budget. She helped cook for and organize the tea- those heart cookies- those were so her. We have to credit her for the PR and advertising our events on forums and events and such. Without Cat, there'd be just us at the parties!
Sarah: Sarah isn't exactly new to gothic lolita fashion--she's been a fan of j-rock and visual kei for a while. She has been cosplaying with Cat and Tracy since 1998, and sewing somewhat seriously for 2 or 3 years. She is an unabashed thrift-whore and budget cosplay/lolita advocate. She was the unofficial Sweet Tea chauffer and helped bake, decorate, and otherwise organize the tea parties.
Tracy: Tracy thought up the idea of having a tea party in the first place, and helped us out with crucial essentials like cups! What is a tea party without cups??? She's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to EGL, and has faultless fashion sense. She also made our beautiful layouts! And that's all she can be counted on to contribute, hah hah.

Emily: Emily is Sarah's little sister and an up and coming fashion diva in her own right. She comes to our Sweet Tea events and models some adorable EGL/EGA and punk outfits, while also providing an extra set of helping hands.

For those of you who are wondering what we do and don't want to look through the galleries, here is a sample outline of what we discussed during the panels at Project A-kon 16.
-----> Tea Party How-to

Now for some thanks and credits to the kind people who make Sweet Tea events possible!

To Jess/Honeyblade - who reserved the table for us, that might not seem like a big deal- but we wouldn't have been able to have a tea party with out it! The admissions people gave us some funny looks until they saw we had a spot reserved. We really appreciate her arranging for us to run the events in the J-pop room at A-kon 16 and just basically giving us support. Yay!

Thanks to SkyPirate.net. Your pictures are great, and we love having you photograph our events. Definitely makes us feel special and important. ^^

A big thank you to Meri, for allowing us to have our gathering and being kind enough to want our group back at her events. It's always a boon to be in a good light with the powers that be!

Thank you to Jeremy Smith for copying like a million copies of Eyepatch Alice so that we could distribute them at A-kon 16!

Also, thanks to everyone that came to the party, those invited guests- and those of you who just showed up. We had tons of fun, and hope to see you again at another gathering soon!
